Healthy can be yummy! Plus, leftovers for a couple of days.

Healthy can be yummy! Plus, leftovers for a couple of days.

This is a yummy, healthy recipe for tomato lima bean soup that I came up with by combining healthy aspects of other recipes I found. The soup comes out light and filling, not too rich and not bland at all. I made this yesterday and the leftovers will be good on this cool Fall day.

Michael Jackson Workout Playlist: Long Live the King!

I’ve been listening to Michael Jackson’s music and watching him perform for as long as I can remember. In fact, ‘Billie Jean’ is the first music video I ever remember watching, and I have a clear image of that memory in my head. I’ll never forget how magical I thought those lit-up sidewalk steps were, and that this man is such a great dancer. Who could ever remember that hook?

As a child, I recognized and respected that Michael Jackson was the most influential artist in the world. When he released a new album, single, or video; it seemed that the entire world paused to watch and be happily entertained.

How Food Companies are Lying about Trans Fat

food companies lying about food

This is an old trick in terms of lying to consumers about the exact amounts of certain food contents. For many years now, food companies have been touting “zero grams fat” or “zero grams saturated fat” when in fact, per serving, there can legally be up to .49 grams per serving!

Food companies are always going to lie to sell more food products. As long as we are gullible enough to continue buying products based on lies, they’ll gladly keep feeding us however much fat they can hide into our food and lying to our faces about it.

A moment of reflection with Roger Ridley: Bring It On Home

Our lives can be full of negative stress if we give in to bad feelings. We all need to take time to share in the human experience and relate with one another — it keeps us grounded, empowers us, and reminds us of our strength and good character. Let’s take a moment with street performer Roger Ridley, as he plays the John Lennon version of “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King.

Sugar can be called any number of names; thus, it can lurk undetected in many food products. Everyone on a healthy eating plan needs to be familar with the many names of sugar so that you can plan accordingly.

When you read the ingredients on food packaging, they are arranged in a hierarchy of the main ingredients, followed by less used ingredients, and so on. So, the ingredient that is listed first is the main ingredient, followed by respectively less and less of the next ingredients.

Phone and Email Counseling Shown to Increase Weight Loss

A new study on weight loss and dieting shows that phone and email counseling help dieters to improve their weight loss. Obesity raises risks for both Type 2 Diabetes and heart disease, and with obesity on the rise in America and other parts of the world; this is great news for those on a diet and weight loss plan, since email and phone diet and fitness counseling is becoming more and more readily available.

The Truth: List of Negative Calorie Foods

Negative calorie foods are always a hot topic. Is it wishful thinking, or are there really foods that take more calories to digest the foods than you consume while eating them? It certainly sounds like music to the ears of a dieter who’s trying to lose body fat through caloric reduction.

It’s important to realize that all the foods we’re talking about do, in fact, contain calories. Though the body has to burn up calories to break down foods and move them through the digestive system, you will be wise to continue to count these calories as you would any other. Calories matter when you’re on a weight loss plan, whether they come from the foods on this list, or from double bacon cheeseburgers.

25 Reasons to Workout Today: Get off the Couch!
